I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
